A milestone for fisheries sustainability places Peru on the path toward international certification of jumbo flying squid Peru has taken a decisive step toward the sustainability of one of its most emblematic hydrobiological resources. The artisanal jumbo giant squid or Humboldt squid fishery (Dosidicus gigas) has been officially accepted into the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Improvement Program (MSC IP), the most prestigious and demanding fisheries sustainability certification system worldwide.
